Description
White Grass Ocean Resort is the perfect place to base your stay on Tanna Island. From here you can laze away the day beneath a swaying palm or take part in one of a number of safari tours, horse riding, sea kayaking, mountain bike riding, trekking and much more. A photographer’s delight, Tanna is also known as the "Island of Fire", so called for its most awesome feature, Mt Yasur, the world’s most accessible volcano. Location
White Grass Ocean Resort is located on Tanna Island. Tanna island is a world of its own, quite different from the rest of Vanuatu. The island prides itself on its awesome Yasur Volcano and its unique ancient traditional culture. The welcome and unabashed friendliness displayed by its people will seduce even the most weary traveller. This island is an untouched paradise that you will quickly be enchanted by. WHITE GRASS OCEAN RESORT is situated only minutes from the airport, with 12 Melanesian style Bures overlooking the Pacific Ocean. Set amongst 6 acres of beautifully landscaped gardens, the resort has many activities on site and offers swimming pool, virgin reef snorkeling, Sea Kayak safaris, Mountain bikes and many 4wd safari tours including Mt Yasur Volcano, Custom Villages and Underwater caves. The restaurant serves the freshest lobster and seafood and is designed to take full advantage of the amazing ocean views and sunsets.

Dining is in an ocean front restaurant which adjoins a cosy guest lounge. The resort provides an a la carte selection of dishes catering to all tastes and budgets utilizing local fish, crustaceans, meats and vegetables.

Whitegrass Ocean Resort has an ocean front Restaurant and Bar, Swimming Pool, Ceiling fans in every bure. A security box is provided at reception for your valuables. The resort provides laundry services. Also babysitting, hairbraiding and massage is provided at a charge.
Activities
Whitegrass Ocean Resort offers a number of guest activities including a swimming pool, grass tennis court, volleyball, petanque and croquet. There is also a guest library and a variety of board games. Mountain bikes and Sea Kayaks are available for hire. There are many walking tracks, passing by local villages, which will take you to adjoining bays and black sand beaches, A popular track is the White Grass Plains. An easy 30-minute walk will place you 100 metres above the resort overlooking the panoramic coastline. On a clear day you can see the island of Erromango 30 km north of Tanna and you will undoubtedly come face to face with the timid wild horses that roam these plains. You may organzie a picnic with the resort and walk for many hours surveying the magnificent landscape and ocean views. Sunset from these sports is an unforgettable experience. Bring your camera!

Snorkelling
Some of the most pristine coral in the pacific can be found just 5 minutes walk from the resort. Cascading down the 1 million-year-old lava beds to a depth of 20 metres. The resort has a limited supply of basic snorkeling gear. More serious snorkelers may like to bring their own equipment. Reef shoes are a must.
